Hiring Timeline

First State Bank’s recruitment process makes applying for a job simple. While the number of interviews and particular steps vary based on the details of each position, here is what you can typically expect during our hiring process:

1. Apply

ApplyCandidates visit our Job Opportunities page to complete an application for a position that meets their skills, interests, and experience.

2. Human Resources Review

Human Resources ReviewOur Human Resources team reviews all applications based on the position requirements and forwards qualified candidates to the hiring manager for consideration.

3. Hiring Manager Review

Hiring Manager ReviewThe hiring manager evaluates applications for skills, experience, and qualifications that are a good fit for the position. Interviews are scheduled with the selected candidates.

4. First Round Interview

First Round InterviewThe hiring manager meets with candidates to discuss the position and the applicant’s qualifications in detail, to learn more about what candidates have to offer, and also shares First State Bank’s company culture.

5. Second Round Interview

Second Round InterviewA second interview is sometimes scheduled for job candidates to meet with Human Resources. HR will review your job history as well as go over benefits and the pre-employment process.

6. Pre-Employment

Background CheckThe candidate selected for hire is contacted by the hiring manager, and then Human Resources will begin the pre-employment process subject to applicable laws and regulations. The pre-employment process includes criminal history and financial background checks, drug testing, and reference checks.  This process can take anywhere from 5 – 10 business days.

7. Offer/Start

Make and offerAn offer is extended upon successful completion of pre-employment screening.  Once a job offer is accepted, a mutually-agreeable start date is scheduled by the hiring manager.  Human Resources will send an offer letter detailing employment information to the candidate selected for hire.
