What should I do if my Visa Check Card is lost or stolen?

Notify First State Bank immediately by calling (636) 940-5555 and ask for Customer Service. If you are calling after regular business hours, please call our card hotline at 1-800-554-8969. We will stop the use of your card and order you a new one for a fee of $6.00. For more detailed information, please refer to your Customer Agreement.

What should I do if I cannot remember my PIN, or if my card’s magnetic strip is damaged?

Simply call or stop by any one of First State Bank’s convenient locations during normal business hours. We will be more than happy to order you a replacement card for a fee of $6.00 or a PIN for $1.50.

As a precaution, you should always be sure to replace your card in your wallet or protective case so that the magnetic strip is not marred or damaged.

What can I do to reduce my risk of fraud?

You can reduce your risk of fraud by not giving out your card information and checking your accounts online regularly. If you do suspect fraudulent activity on your First State Bank debit card, please call the bank immediately at 636-940-5555.

What should I do if I notice fraudulent activity on my account?

If you do suspect fraudulent activity on your First State Bank debit card, please call the bank immediately at 636-940-5555. If you are calling after regular business hours or on a holiday, please call our card hotline at 1- 800-554-8969. After calling the hotline to cancel your current First State Bank debit card, please call the bank on the next regular business day to order a replacement card.

What should I do if I will be traveling outside of the country and want to use my debit card?

If you have plans to travel outside of the country, please contact us before your trip to ensure your debit card will work properly during your travels.

When my current First State Bank Visa Check Card expires, what should I do?

You will automatically receive a new card in the mail before the expiration date. Please activate the new card and verify that it functions properly, then destroy your expiring card.

I’ve received my new Visa Check Card in the mail, but not my PIN. When should I expect to receive it?

Visa Check Cards are mailed separately from PINs as a security measure. Once you’ve received your new card, expect to receive your PIN in 3-5 business days.

Can both my spouse and I have our own Visa Check Cards?

Certainly, as long as each of you qualify. Fill out, sign and return an application to the bank to begin the application process.
